Mariah Shore
Meet The Trainer
Hi, I’m Mariah Shore, founder and trainer at K9 Comprehension. For the past 6 years, I’ve dedicated my life to helping dogs and their families build stronger, healthier, and more fulfilling relationships. My training style is rooted in balance, clear communication, and a genuine love for helping dogs reach their full potential.
My journey didn’t start in a classroom or a seminar — it started at home, surrounded by animals. Growing up on a farm, I was immersed in animal care and management from a young age. That foundation sparked a deep respect for the bond between humans and animals, and over time, it evolved into a career in dog training.
Over the past 6 years, I’ve worked with hundreds of dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments — from high-energy puppies who needed structure, to nervous rescues struggling with trust, to confident working breeds needing advanced obedience and off-leash reliability.
I’ve guided families through everything from the basics of sit, stay, and leash manners, to addressing more complex challenges like reactivity, resource guarding, and separation anxiety. No two dogs or families are the same, and that’s why I tailor my approach to the needs of each individual. Some dogs thrive with gentle guidance and encouragement, while others need clear structure and accountability. My job is to meet them where they are — and help owners do the same.
I’ve had the privilege of training a wide range of clients, from busy families with young children, to first-time dog owners, to experienced handlers looking to take their dogs to the next level. This variety has shaped me into a trainer who is adaptable, solution-focused, and dedicated to finding what truly works for both dog and human.
